Major: Economics/ German Studies (Hispanic Studies correlate)

My name is Cristina Carp, and I was born on the 21st of September 1977 in Oradea, Bihor County, Romania; I still live there. I came for the first time to the United States in August, 1996, to start my freshman year at Vassar. I am the President of the Vassar International Students' Association and I am part of the Vassar fencing team.

I am very much interested in the transition process in Eastern Europe and also in the very different situations and developments in each of the countries of the former Communist Bloc after 1989.

One last thing: I consider myself lucky to be Romanian.
