Welcome to the website for the Cognition and Religion Project based at Vassar College. This web site is devoted to the study of the cognitive bases of religious belief and practice. New pages are being added to the site on a regular basis. Lists of readings and copies of papers will be forthcoming in the near future. At present we are inviting participation in an online study of how people think about the Supreme Deity (God or Allah) as generally understood in the monotheistic traditions of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. Anyone with an interest in the topic, whatever his or her religious affiliation or system of beliefs (including atheists and agnostics), is welcome to participate.
