The reception features live performances by Vassar students, the viewing of a short documentary film about the project, plus a display of a wide variety of Haitian handicraft.

The Vassar Haiti Project, founded in 2001, is a collaborative volunteer effort supporting the welfare of artists in haiti and the education and the nutrition of school children in the village of Chermaitre, Haiti.
Through art sales and outreach programs, the Project promotes understanding of Haitian culture and society, and provides funds for improving the infrastructre of the village and the welfare of the children and their families. Watch our documentary film:
