It celebrates the wisdom of the elders as leaders who are cherished for their commitment to help the island thrive. Haitian Art
We directly support the welfare of hundreds of Haitian artists and artisans through art sales and auctions thereby promoting Haitian art and raising the nations narrative.
-
Global Citizenship
With a strong educational component, we are dedicated both to raising awareness of Haitian culture and society in the US and elsewhere, and to providing a hands-on, practical education in global citizenship.
-
Sustainable Development
The proceeds of art sales, grants, and donations provide the funding to support sustainable development initiatives in Chermaitre, Haiti.
Haitian Art + Handcraft Sale at Vassar College | Fall 2024
With Many Thanks!
The art sale during Families Weekend at Vassar was a great success supporting another year of education to 250 children in rural Haiti! We sold many paintings in the online auction, from our website and at the sale! We are also giving the children both breakfast and lunch so that their bodies can be nourished as well as their minds.
In case you missed it, you can view and purchase original artwork from our website: Click Here
We thank you for your belief in our work and for your care of Haitian children, knowing that, in the words of Nelson Mandela,
EDUCATION is the most powerful weapon in the world!

Artist Spotlight
Benoit Profelus
Through his paintings, Benoit attempts to “present reality” and uses bright colours to depict scenes from nature and daily life. Besides teaching 20-30 students in his recently named Galerie Benoit & Atelier, Benoit also exhibits his works in Port-au-Prince and Cap-Haitien and continues developing his craft to achieve his goal of “become[ing] a bigger artist… becom[ing] a good businessman and a painter, travel[ing] to sell paintings, go[ing] to every country and exhibit.” As a graduate of the secondary school in Chermaitre, Benoit continues to collaborate with artists in Chermaitre to paint schools and houses in the community.
