Project Manager: Claudia Sanchez '11 and Samin Shehab '11
The Vassar Haiti Project has given us the opportunity of working on different aspects of the project from advertising to inventory, to stretching paintings as well as setting up the website and planning events. It has been a broad and enlightening experience.
Currently we help to oversee the project and work closely with other Project Managers. Our goal is to get the whole picture, to look at the project in its entirety in order to make sure that everything is getting done and that the project altogether is going in a progressive direction. Truly, it's what Lila and Andrew do in the Project, on a lower scale. This is incredibly exciting, because we are able to see how the VHP works as a whole and how all of our efforts come together. It also entails a degree of involvement in every aspect of the Project which is both thrilling and overwhelming.
Sometimes it is challenging to keep up with it all as the fact is that the Project Managers are so driven that it is difficult to keep up with them! But this also means that the excitement never ceases, because there are always new endeavors to pursue and new projects to back up.
The Project is taking a new direction and expanding in ways that we never dreamed of. We can't wait to see what the next steps will be and hope that our involvement helps bring about wonderful changes!
