Relief Initiative

Last summer, Haiti was struck by four hurricanes, leaving 800,000 without food or shelter. In order to aid the vastly underfunded relief effort, the Hurricane Relief Committee undertook a massive fundraising initiative, hosting events on campus and reaching out to prospective donors from the VHP community. In total, we raised 13,000 dollars in a few short months. These funds went to repairing the roof on the school in Chermaitre (which blew off during a windstorm) and to providing aid to the people of Gros Morne, a neighboring town, where we also shipped 20 cartons of clothing.
