The water purification committee is in the beginning phases of bringing fresh water to our sponsored village of Chermaitre. We have initiated talks with local Rotary club members and businesses to begin raising funds for this initiative.
Our project will take place in at least four stages. Currently we are in the first stage of research. Which system is most efficient to bring water to the people of Chermaitre? We are also looking at the need for water pumps and cisterns.
Next we will focus on the materiality of the pumps and/or cisterns. We will look for the most efficient and economical pumps to introduce to the village. Our third phase will include implementing a timetable in which these systems of water purification may be installed.
In the final stage, we will place all of our focuses on gathering funds and spreading awareness of this project. The water purification initiative is committed to turning the theoretical possibility of fresh water for the people of Chermaitre into an applicable reality.
My first challenge in organizing this new venture is recruiting new members into the initiative. Due to the long term nature of this project we will constantly need new faces and vibrant energy to maintain and proceed with our goals.
