Description of Research
Dr. Arroyo's research focuses on Artificial Intelligence: Expert system development, AI software tools, Knowledge Representation formalisms and tools, Natural Language Interfaces, Logic and Logic Programming, FP Systems, AI Languages (LISP, Prolog, Scheme, etc.), User interfaces, user models, automatic programming. Object-Oriented Systems: Smalltalk, C++, LOOPS, OOP design, OOP environments. Digital Signal Processing: Characterization of the singing voice, vibrato, violin vibrato, spectral analysis, biomedical signal processing. Multimedia: education, textbook development, teaching, computer-aided education. Digital Systems: design, microcomputers and microprocessors, digital specification design tools, assembly language programming, embedded systems. Commercial Software Development: Payroll systems, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivables, Equipment Rental Systems, Inventory, Job Costing, General Ledger, Estimation, Automatic Report generation, etc.
