| Description of Research | |||
| Dr. Russell's research interests lie in vortex dynamics and dynamical systems, their applications to problems in mechanical and aerospace engineering, and related problems. He is Principal Investigator of the NSF-sponsored project Design of Sensor-Based Machine Tools for Machining Advanced Ceramics and Co-Investigator of the NASA-Lewis sponsored project The Role of Swirl Mixing for Low NOx Combustor Development. Dr. Russell joined the faculty of the Department of Mechanical Engineering in 1989, after 30 years in the US Air Force and one year in the private sector. He retired from the Air Force as a Brigadier General. |
