Description
of Research |
Dr. Hankins's research emphasis is on plasma diagnostic techniques applied to dense low temperature plasmas (electrothermal and electromagnetic launchers) and atmospheric pressure glow discharges. In the launcher area, the research includes using spectroscopy and other techniques to measure plasma parameters and observe the burn rate of propellants and ablation of surfaces. The glow discharge work includes the destruction of biological agents and the modification of the surface characteristics of textiles. |
