Description
of Research |
Our primary research effort is in the area of nonlinear optics, where we characterize polymer materials used to make optical devices such as deflectors and modulators which are used in optical communication. We also study the transport properties and the photo-physics of organic materials used in organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs). OLEDS can be used to build flat panel displays like the ones used in lap-top computers. We have recently started a new effort using laser light to measure the strain in composite materials. Composite materials are used to make light weight vehicles. |
