Description
of Research |
Dr. Phillips' research interest is business forecasting. The engineering and mathematical principles he uses include learn-and-optimize techniques from artificial intelligence, functional analysis from mathematics, and from the field of electrical engineering, he uses both trend analysis and filtering theory. His consulting clients include institutional investment companies. Another research interest is vision research in the field of biomedical engineering. This research uses microelectronics technology to restore vision to blind humans. Electrical stimulation of the retina, using an implanted microchip, is used to compensate for the non-functional photoreceptors. This research has reached the stage of human trials, following five years of successful animal trials. |
