Description
of Research |
Professor de la Garza research thrusts comprise: Information Technology in Construction and Highway Infrastructure Management. For the last eight years he has developed models of Design Rationale for use in the Architecture-Engineering-Construction (AEC) industry. His work on Design Rationale modeling has been sponsored by three NSF grants. Professor de la Garza's research on Highway Infrastructure Management has been funded by the Virginia Department of Transportation and more recently by the Swedish National Road Administration. Dr. de la Garza has recently received two grants from the Construction Industry Institute to study Workers' Compensation issues in the Construction Industry and the potential of using Wireless Communications and Computing technology at the Jobsite. Dr. de la Garza's latest contributions in the Information Technology field include "schedule-updating" tools for the palm-held computers. |
