-What do you think the purposes of multiple concentration camp visits are?
I don't know. Coming to Buchenwald a third time for me is somewhat unnecessary, I think. I'd like to go somewhere else, like Auschwitz. That should be a completely different experience. I'd like to see a lot more...just because I want to. I mean there's no reason that I should. I'd like for everyone to have to visit one. That's not always feasible. But it's an experience that's necessary, I guess, just for people to understand what happened and to have to feel it. You can read about it in a book, but you really don't feel it. So you go there. The museum in Washington is pretty good. I've been there, and it's pretty powerful.... But I don't think it's possible to create a memorial that's as powerful as the actual site. It's the idea of knowing that this is actually where it happened.
