Jews must not leave their homes after 8:00 PM (9:00PM in the Summer, 9/1/39)Genetics and eugenics are established at all schools as tested subjects, (9/13/33)

The sign project, conceived by Renate Stih and Frieder Schnock, represents an unconventional memorial, consisting of eighty small signs. The signs recall the names of streets and businesses in what used to be a district busy with Jewish life. Each sign has an image on one side and text on the other, usually quotations from Nazi laws that limited the freedoms of the Jews in the period between 1933 and 1945, or a quotation from someone who lived under the Nazi terror.
